"Rest" was composed in a year of illness during which I had no choice but to rest, alone, in silence.
Out of silence, these songs emerged as a sort of salvation. This music attempts to express the unspeakable softness of the world. Here there is no high drama, no great conflict. Life is slowly, gracefully played out from birth to death, from silence to silence, separated by intervals of growth.
This is music to rest to, to nap to, to relax to, to love to, to live to.
